Korea-India Senior Experts Discuss Global Cooperation in the COVID-19 Pandemic Era


[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Korea Foundation (KF) announced on the 22nd that it will jointly hold the "19th Korea-India Dialogue" as an online video conference on the 23rd with the Seoul Forum for International Affairs (SFIA) and India's Ananta Aspen Centre.


The meeting will be attended by Lee Geun, Chairman of KF, Lee Hong-gu, Chairman of the Seoul Forum for International Affairs, Kim Myung-ja, President of the Seoul Forum for International Affairs, and Shin Bong-gil, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to India. On the Indian side, Nashad Forbes, Chairman of the Ananta Aspen Centre, Kiran Pasricha, CEO of the Ananta Aspen Centre, and Sripriya Ranganathan, Ambassador of India to Korea, will participate.


This meeting is organized under the main theme of "Building a New Korea-India Strategic Partnership Amid the COVID-19 Pandemic" and consists of three main sessions: △ Pandemic Spread and Outlook and Bilateral Cooperation, △ Geopolitical Impact and Multilateral Cooperation Synergy, △ Economic and Trade Outlook and Bilateral Cooperation. In particular, Session 1 will discuss practical cooperation measures between the two countries in the context of emphasizing the importance of global cooperation for effective response to COVID-19 and vaccine development.


Lee Geun, Chairman of KF, stated, "In an uncertain future, we expect to strengthen the special strategic cooperative partnership between Korea and India and to derive cooperation measures suitable for the new era."
