U+ KakaoNavi 'AR Navigation' Available on 11 Devices Including Note20

Significant Expansion from Existing Galaxy S10 5G and V50 ThinQ Models to Two More

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] LG Uplus announced on the 22nd that it has expanded the number of 5G smartphone models that can use the augmented reality (AR) navigation feature introduced in its mobile navigation service 'U+ Kakao Navi' to 11 models.

The feature, which was previously available only on Android OS 5G devices such as Samsung Electronics Galaxy S10 5G and LG Electronics V50 ThinQ, can now also be used on LG V50S, Galaxy Note20, Galaxy Note20 Ultra, Galaxy Note10, Galaxy Note10+, Galaxy A90, Galaxy S20+ 5G, Galaxy S20 Ultra, and Galaxy S20 5G.

LG Uplus 5G customers who own these models can use the U+ Kakao Navi AR navigation service for free. Users can update the existing U+ Kakao Navi app or download it from Google Play Store, One Store, etc., and then use the AR navigation feature. Prizes are also offered through text participation and promotional video events. LG Uplus stated that it plans to continue expanding supported devices.

The AR navigation feature draws the driving route and directions on the actual road during driving, helping drivers clearly recognize the entry direction at complex intersections or forks and enter without deviating from the route. According to LG Uplus, more than half of the customers who updated the app on July 29, the first day the U+ Kakao Navi AR navigation feature was launched, used the AR navigation feature.

Kim Min-gu, head of LG Uplus Mobile Service, said, "The number of supported devices has increased from 2 to 11, allowing more LG Uplus 5G customers to experience the U+ Kakao Navi AR navigation feature," and added, "We will continue to discover 5G specialized features that customers can conveniently use in collaboration with industry-leading companies."
