Gyeongnam Office of Education Reports 29,078 Candidates Took the 2021 CSAT Gyeongnam Office of Education Building Exterior


[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Choi Hyun-joo] The Gyeongnam Office of Education announced on the 21st that a total of 29,078 people applied for the 2021 College Scholastic Ability Test through the CSAT information system from 9 a.m. on the 3rd to 5 p.m. on the 18th.


According to the Office of Education, this number decreased by 3,476 compared to last year, marking the first time that the number of applicants in Gyeongnam fell below 30,000.


Looking at the types of applicants in Gyeongnam by gender, there were 14,798 males (50.9%) and 14,280 females (49.1%). By qualification, there were 23,737 prospective graduates (81.6%), 4,812 graduates (16.6%), and 529 who passed the qualification exam or were recognized as having other academic credentials (1.8%).


Compared to last year, the proportion of prospective graduates decreased, while the proportions of graduates and other recognized academic credentials increased. For the 2020 CSAT, the expected examinees were 27,095 prospective graduates (83.2%), 4,945 graduates (15.2%), and 514 who passed the qualification exam or had other academic credentials (1.6%), totaling 32,554.


The number of applicants by test district was 9,769 in Changwon district, 5,224 in Jinju district, 3,577 in Tongyeong district, 1,032 in Geochang district, 1,075 in Miryang district, 5,204 in Gimhae district, and 3,197 in Yangsan district. The number of applicants in each test district also showed an overall decrease compared to the previous year.
