Gyeongbuk Province Launches 'Olyeoboda Orae' SNS Campaign... Spreading Non-Face-to-Face Chuseok Atmosphere

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] Gyeongsangbuk-do announced on the 21st that it will carry out the #Olhaebodaorae SNS campaign to spread the atmosphere of an 'untact (non-face-to-face) Chuseok holiday.'

Gyeongbuk Province has chosen '#Olhaebodaorae' as the SNS (social networking service) hashtag theme and produced a public service advertisement video, which will be pre-released on the official Gyeongbuk YouTube channel 'BoisoTV' on the 22nd, followed by a large-scale promotion. The video depicts the daily lives of families spending an untact Chuseok and holiday changed by COVID-19, such as performing online ancestral rites and checking in via video calls.

In addition, to spread the campaign, from the 22nd to the 4th of next month, a '#Olhaebodaorae' certification event will be held through the official SNS channels of the province, offering small prizes through a lottery. Those who wish to participate can write a message on their SNS saying 'Let's spend an untact holiday' (must include #Olhaebodaorae) and join by commenting on the event post on the official SNS (blog, Facebook, Instagram) of the province.

Lee Cheol-woo, Governor of Gyeongbuk Province, said, "There are records that during the Joseon Dynasty, ancestral rites for holidays like Chuseok were omitted when epidemics occurred," and added, "This year, I ask all residents to actively cooperate in refraining from travel and participating in a non-face-to-face Chuseok to make Gyeongbuk safe from COVID-19."

Meanwhile, since May, Gyeongbuk Province has been conducting the #IjedasiGyeongbuk SNS campaign to support the cultural tourism and small business sectors in Gyeongbuk, which have been depressed due to COVID-19.
