[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Min-young] BNK Financial Group has embarked on creating a happy Chuseok by sharing love-filled songpyeon with local neighbors.
On the 21st, BNK Financial announced that it delivered 600 boxes of three-colored songpyeon sets worth 20 million KRW to 69 local social welfare facilities.
This sharing initiative by BNK Financial is a social contribution project that has been carried out since 2018 to practice sharing with socially marginalized groups in the region who live in welfare facilities and cannot be with their families during Chuseok, the largest national holiday.
The songpyeon sets delivered on this day are planned to be shared with local neighbors such as children, the elderly, and people with disabilities living in each facility.
A BNK Financial official said, “Although the situation is difficult due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we prepared this event hoping for a warmer Chuseok holiday in spirit,” adding, “BNK will continue to promote various social contribution activities that help the local community and neighbors.”
