[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] Huawei, China's largest telecommunications equipment company, is demonstrating its resilience in the 5G network market despite the U.S. government's stringent sanctions. The company has announced its intention to strengthen cooperation with partners through 5G network technology.

According to industry sources on the 21st, Huawei introduced the keynote speech delivered at the recently held Huawei NetX 2025 X-Tech Better World Summit on its website, focusing on building a "future-oriented network."

Peng Song, President of Huawei's Global Carrier Marketing Division, who delivered the speech, quoted a Chinese proverb, "With a strong foundation, trees and flowers flourish," stating, "Huawei's network will enable future services to thrive," and urged operators and partners to "collaborate with Huawei to expand future networks."

President Peng said, "As the intelligent world rapidly approaches, networks will become the foundation of the digital economy for operators." He added, "We can provide services not only to consumers but also to more customers, offering various industry-specific solutions beyond just traffic," emphasizing, "Ultimately, networks must make maximum efforts in latency, speed, and stability (of 5G) to meet the demands of diverse industries."

He stated, "It will be important for Huawei to provide operators with a competitive edge and enable revenue generation," and added, "We must organically provide everything from network optimization to customer service and integrated solutions." President Peng also mentioned, "B2C (business-to-consumer) will shift focus from traffic-centric to customer service-centric, while B2B (business-to-business) will concentrate more on resolving uncertain requirements." He emphasized future networks' ▲hyperconnectivity, ▲service simplification, ▲flexibility, and ▲intelligent collaboration.

Meanwhile, the Trump administration in the U.S. has been escalating sanctions against Huawei. Suspecting ties between Huawei and the Chinese Communist Party, the Trump administration has urged allies such as the UK to ban the use of Huawei network equipment. Beyond boycotting network equipment, the U.S. Department of Commerce has also prohibited semiconductor sales without prior approval. According to market research firm Dell'Oro, last year’s 5G telecommunications equipment market share was Huawei 32.6%, Ericsson 24.5%, Nokia 18.3%, and Samsung Electronics 16.6%.
