Yangcheon-gu Youth Raise Their Voices!

Yangcheon-gu to Host 90-Minute Online Youth Policy Debate via YouTube Live Streaming from 7 PM on the 23rd

Yangcheon-gu Youth Raise Their Voices!

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Yangcheon-gu (Mayor Kim Soo-young) will hold an online youth policy forum on the 23rd.

The youth policy forum is a place where the parties involved freely exchange their thoughts on youth issues and seek solutions together with the district. The opinions presented by the youth at the forum are practically reflected in the process of establishing youth policies in Yangcheon-gu, contributing to the implementation of policies with a high level of youth participation.

Due to the impact of COVID-19, this year's forum, held on the 23rd from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM via YouTube live streaming for 90 minutes, will be themed "Activation of Youth Governance." It will be a valuable time to jointly devise ways to expand youth participation in all areas of district projects and to hear the voices of youth stakeholders regarding upcoming youth policy support projects.

At the forum, Lee Jong-seon, CEO of Yangcheon Sangsang Madang, Kim Dong-hyuk, Cooperation Officer of Seoul City Youth Policy Governance, and Moon Soo-hoon, former chairman of the Yangcheon-gu Youth Policy Committee, will each present for 35 minutes. This will be followed by 45 minutes of free discussion through real-time chat between the presenters and youth participants, where, beyond the set topics, free expression of youth policy proposals and discovery of youth agendas will continue.

Youth wishing to participate in the discussion can watch the live streaming of the forum on the official Yangcheon-gu Office YouTube channel, YangcheonTV, on the 23rd, and freely present their opinions on youth policies through the chat.

Suggestions proposed to build a youth-friendly governance will be positively reviewed in consultation with related departments and actively reflected throughout district administration.

Kim Soo-young, Mayor of Yangcheon-gu, stated, "Since this year's youth policy forum is being held online for the first time due to COVID-19, I ask for the active participation of Yangcheon-gu youth who have a deep interest in district administration," and added, "We will do our best at the district level to listen to the voices of youth and prepare effective policies."
