[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Dong-wook] Daegu City announced on the 20th that starting from the 21st, the gathering ban on three high-risk facility types related to COVID-19?clubs and night-type entertainment bars, hunting pubs, and emotional pubs?will be eased to gathering restrictions.
This easing measure for the three industries will be applied as an exception under the 'Daegu-style Social Distancing Level 2 Measures,' which have been extended by one week until the 27th.
Considering the sporadic cluster infections of COVID-19 nationwide, Daegu City decided to maintain the Level 2 social distancing measures for the time being. Additionally, from the 21st to October 8th, the city has designated this period as the 'COVID-19 Chuseok Holiday Special Quarantine Period' and will promote a city-wide 'Wear a Mask GO Movement' to foster a culture of practicing daily quarantine measures.
During this period, the emergency quarantine situation room and district screening clinics will operate normally, and thermal cameras at Dongdaegu Station and the complex transfer center, as well as the Dongdaegu Station walking-through testing site, will also operate as usual during the holiday period to prevent re-spread in advance. Joint inspections with the police will be conducted on 7,388 locations, including 651 multi-use facilities such as traditional markets, large stores, religious facilities, cinemas, and amusement facilities, as well as high-risk facilities and businesses required to follow core quarantine rules.
Kim Jeong-gi, Director of Planning and Coordination at Daegu City, stated, "The comprehensive measures for Chuseok were prepared to minimize movement to prevent the spread of COVID-19 while also alleviating the fatigue of citizens who are exhausted. We will do our best to protect the health of the Daegu community during the holiday and enrich the lives of our citizens."
