[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] On the 20th, the People Power Party criticized the 4th supplementary budget, saying, "The government and ruling party are trying to show off by forcibly handing out the 20,000 won communication fee candy produced by borrowing," and "6 out of 10 citizens oppose it. This is why people say, 'Is this money really yours?'"

People Power Party spokesperson Bae Jun-young said in a statement on the same day, "The government said there is no choice but to borrow, such as issuing government bonds," and "Therefore, this supplementary budget ultimately results in debt that our citizens must cover."

Spokesperson Bae pointed out, "Have the previous three supplementary budgets all been exhausted and now we are borrowing? For example, looking at the actual execution details of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's 3rd supplementary budget of 1.7 trillion won, the actual execution rate is only 18% when comparing the supplementary budget amount to the actual execution amount for six projects," and "Four projects have an execution rate of 0%. Do you understand why the government urgently requested the 3rd supplementary budget and the ruling party 'rammed it through'?"

Spokesperson Bae said, "The government is still eager to borrow money urgently, but when it comes to directly distributing money to the people or executing projects, it is negligent," and "From now on, before the government requests a new supplementary budget, it must announce the 'actual execution rate' of all existing projects in advance."
