Hongcheon (Two-way) Rest Area Emergency Operation as "Nation's Safety First Rest Area" in Response to COVID-19

Hongcheon (Two-way) Rest Area Emergency Operation as "Nation's Safety First Rest Area" in Response to COVID-19

Kidari Food Co., Ltd. (Chairman Lee Myung-su), which operates the Hongcheon (both directions) rest area/gas station on the Seoul-Yangyang Expressway, announced that it will operate as an "Emergency Operation Rest Area Prioritizing National Safety" to ensure safe use of highway rest areas amid COVID-19.

Before entering the indoor store of the rest area, visitors must fill out a visitor log and pass a contactless automatic temperature check device installed at the entrance to gain access to the store. Inside the store, about 50% of the tables have been removed, leaving sufficient space so that the distance between tables is at least 2 meters.

Additionally, outdoor tables have been expanded instead of indoor tables, and the existing smoking room has been closed. An open area has been designated separately, and all facilities have been reorganized and arranged to reduce outdoor droplet transmission and customer contact to zero.

Lee Myung-su, chairman of Kidari Food Co., Ltd., stated, "All rest areas we operate have been selected as safe stores by the local governments, and we will do our utmost to ensure that these rest areas become safe places where the public can feel secure and trust amid COVID-19."
