[Breaking] Park Neung-hoo: "60% Flu Vaccine Coverage Is Enough... Nationwide Vaccination Is Excessive"

[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] Park Neung-hoo, Minister of Health and Welfare, stated on the 17th that there is "no need for debate either medically or numerically" regarding the People Power Party's claim for a 'nationwide influenza vaccine.'

At the National Assembly's Health and Welfare Committee, when Democratic Party lawmaker Shin Hyun-young asked about the target and scope of vaccine administration, Minister Park said, "Considering demand, we have secured enough doses to vaccinate up to 60% of the entire population."

He emphasized, "The common expert opinion is that securing doses to vaccinate 60% is sufficient," adding, "No country in the world vaccinates more than half of its population against influenza. We have raised that by 10 percentage points."
