[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Bong-ju] It has been revealed that the 'comedian Choi Mo' who was indicted on charges of operating an illegal gambling site along with comedian Kim Hyung-in is actually Choi Jae-wook. Choi Jae-wook admitted to his charges but firmly denied Kim Hyung-in's involvement.

On the 16th, Choi Jae-wook said in an interview with Sports Chosun, "At first, we opened a legal board game room, but it later became an illegal gambling site with gambling elements."

Earlier, on the 15th, MBC Newsdesk reported that comedians Kim Mo and Choi Mo were indicted on the 1st for charges including opening an illegal gambling site. The two are accused of opening an illegal gambling site in an officetel in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, in early 2018, facilitating gambling involving tens of millions of won, and collecting commissions.

Subsequently, 'comedian Kim' Kim Hyung-in strongly denied his charges. He claimed, "I admit to gambling once or twice, but I never directly opened an illegal gambling site. I was threatened by a new investor, Mr. A, during the process of lending money to junior comedian Choi and trying to get it back."

Choi Jae-wook made a similar claim. He said, "As it became difficult to operate the gambling site, conflicts arose with investor Mr. A, and in the process, senior comedian Kim Hyung-in, who was not involved in the operation, was also threatened by Mr. A. Kim Hyung-in was unfairly threatened as a participant in the operation because he lent me 15 million won around the time the board game room opened."

Additionally, Choi Jae-wook expressed apologies to senior comedian Choi Guk, who was also suspected as 'comedian Choi.'
