Asia Economy Youth Employment Academy Trainees Win Grand Prize at 'Culture and Tourism Big Data Analysis Competition' Contest

On September 15th, the Asia Economy Youth Employment Academy training team participated in the 'Culture and Tourism Big Data Analysis Competition' hosted by the Korea Culture and Tourism Institute and won the grand prize.

The team of four members, Go Eunseong, Lee Taerim, Chae Dami, and Kang Donggu (team name: DATA193), participated in the competition with the theme "Safe Travel, Quiet Travel! The Impact of COVID-19 on the Culture and Tourism Sector and Future Change Prospects."

The winners formed a team with fellow trainees after completing the 'Industrial Convergence Big Data Analyst Course,' a job training program at the Asia Economy Youth Employment Academy, which lasted three months starting in May this year. Notably, all the winners majored in business and arts-related fields, making their grand prize win in the big data field particularly meaningful.

In an interview, the DATA193 team said, "We prepared for the competition together while attending the Asia Economy Big Data Training Course for about two months. At first, we faced many difficulties and frustrations when encountering data analysis. However, through the big data training, we systematically learned the basics and analysis techniques, which helped us build a solid understanding of data." They added, "Especially by applying the analysis models learned during the training to the competition analysis, we gained many insights. We feel proud and happy that the fruits of our efforts, which started from the training course, have resulted in such a good outcome. We also hope to contribute even a little to the culture and tourism industry struggling due to COVID-19."

Meanwhile, Asia Economy has been participating as a training institution for the Youth Employment Academy since 2014. The 'Industrial Convergence Big Data Analyst Course,' which produced this grand prize winner, is designed for graduates (or prospective graduates) of humanities, social sciences, and business-related university programs. It provides specialized IT/SW practical education for employment and supports job placement in related industries.

In addition, courses such as the 'AI Deep Learning-Based Natural Language Processing Course' and the 'Cloud-Based Web Service Developer Course' are offered year-round, and trainees are currently being recruited for the courses starting in October.
