[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] The Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Korea Federation of SMEs announced on the 16th that they have selected Kim Sun-oh, CEO of Geumseong Bolt Industry, and Seo Ki-man, CEO of Vessel, as the 'Proud Small Business Owners of September.'


Founded in 1978, Geumseong Bolt Industry has secured 19 original technologies including industrial bolts and nuts, high-strength aerospace bolts, defense bolts, and bolts for hybrid vehicle steering systems, and has also been selected as a 'Global Small Giant Company.'


Through continuous research and development and technological innovation, the company obtained NET new technology certification, won the Busan Industry Award for technology in 2017, and achieved exports of 1 million USD in 2017, 3 million USD in 2018, and 5 million USD in 2019.


CEO Kim was recognized for his contributions to technology development and social service, receiving the Order of Civil Merit - Pomegranate Medal, Magnolia Medal, and the Presidential Citation for Venture Promotion, and was selected as a Beautiful Taxpayer this year.


Vessel is a display equipment manufacturer holding 20 patents and certifications, implementing an integrated management system that connects each process equipment to an automated production line, currently ranking first in market share within China. Following the successful completion of a government national project related to light aircraft in 2017, the company secured national projects worth a total of 56 billion KRW for manned and unmanned aircraft last year.


Seo Ki-man, who has served as CEO since 2006, was highly evaluated for contributing to corporate growth by achieving exports of 10 million USD in 2009, 30 million USD in 2013, and 50 million USD in 2015.


After listing on KONEX in July 2013, the company moved to KOSDAQ in June 2015 and shared performance with highly contributing employees through the introduction of the employee stock ownership plan. It also operated various welfare programs and received the '2016 Respected Entrepreneur Leading the Future Award.'
