No Impact Expected on Our Country
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] The 11th typhoon of the season, 'Noul (NOUL),' has formed and is moving northward.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, the typhoon formed at 3 a.m. on the 16th approximately 320 km southwest of Manila, Philippines.
As of 9 a.m., the typhoon is located about 360 km southwest of Manila, Philippines, moving at a speed of 13 km/h. The central pressure is 998 hPa, maximum wind speed is 68 km/h, and the radius of strong winds is about 150 km.
The typhoon is expected to pass over the Philippine Sea, approach the eastern sea near Da Nang, Vietnam on the 17th, and make landfall the following day. It is forecasted to weaken into a tropical depression within 72 hours.
'Noul' is a name submitted by North Korea.
