[Asia Economy Reporter No Woo-rae] ○…The LPGA Tour Cambia Portland Classic has been shortened to 54 holes.
The LPGA Tour office announced on the 16th (Korean time), "Due to wildfires in the Pacific Northwest region, air quality has reached hazardous levels," and "The tournament schedule has been adjusted for the health and safety of the players." The Cambia Portland Classic was scheduled to determine the winner over 72 holes of stroke play at Columbia Edgewater Golf Club in Portland, Oregon, USA, over four days starting the night of the 17th, but it has been postponed by one day to the night of the 18th.
The course was closed that morning, and the pro-am on the 17th was also canceled. The press conference schedule is undecided. In last year's tournament, Hannah Green (Australia) staged a dramatic come-from-behind victory by shooting 5-under on the final day to finish at 21-under 267. No Ye-rim (USA), who qualified through Monday qualifying, started with a 3-shot lead but managed to reduce only 1 stroke, finishing as runner-up by 1 stroke. Most regrettably, she made bogeys on the 16th hole (par 3) and the 18th hole (par 4).
