[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 15th that it will conduct on-site guidance and inspections to stabilize prices during the Chuseok holiday, and also strengthen quarantine activities at the ‘5-day traditional markets’.

The county has organized its own inspection team to stabilize prices and maintain sound distribution transaction order in preparation for the Chuseok holiday, focusing on traditional markets and shopping districts for on-site guidance and inspections.

They will carry out on-site price checks including monitoring the supply and price trends of major seasonal products, while considering the difficult business conditions such as decreased sales due to COVID-19.

To provide consumers with accurate price information, the county discloses the price status of major Chuseok seasonal products twice a week through the Sancheong-gun website.

A county official said, “Due to recent heavy rains and typhoon damage, there are concerns about price increases for some agricultural products. We will promote price stabilization through our own inspections.”

Along with price stabilization policies, the county will also strengthen quarantine activities targeting six 5-day traditional markets in the region to prevent the spread of COVID-19. They will focus on promoting mask-wearing not only to merchants within the traditional markets but also to visiting customers.

In addition, they plan to concentrate on blocking infectious diseases by urging frequent disinfection of commonly used areas such as store entrance door handles at least once a day.

A county official stated, “We plan to further strengthen quarantine activities so that residents and visitors shopping at traditional markets can do so comfortably and safely,” and added, “We ask visitors to the markets to actively practice social distancing measures and work together to prevent COVID-19.”
