GS Home Shopping Supports SMEs Entering Southeast Asian Markets... Recruiting Participants

[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] GS Home Shopping is organizing a ‘Special Exhibition of Excellent Small and Medium-sized Enterprise (SME) Products on Overseas Home Shopping’ and is publicly recruiting SMEs to participate in order to help SMEs struggling due to the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) to develop overseas sales channels.

GS Home Shopping is participating as the lead company in the Ministry of SMEs and Startups’ joint large and small business entry support project, collaborating with large and small enterprises, the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation, and the Korea International Trade Association to promote the ‘Special Exhibition of Excellent SME Products on Overseas Home Shopping.’ This exhibition is designed to support SMEs that have completed export preparations for entering the Southeast Asian market but have not yet found sales channels.

Participating SMEs will enter GS Home Shopping’s Indonesian joint venture home shopping channel ‘MNC SHOP’ and the Thai home shopping channel ‘TRUE SHOPPING.’ To this end, GS Home Shopping will provide broadcasting support for SMEs’ entry into local TV home shopping as well as support all processes related to overseas exports.

GS Home Shopping will also support various programs such as ▲entry and sales on excellent local e-commerce platforms ▲promotion and SNS marketing using local influencers ▲local TV advertising and media publicity. Selected SMEs can also be featured on GS Home Shopping’s free broadcast for SMEs, ‘I Love SMEs,’ thereby expanding their domestic sales channels as well.

SMEs wishing to participate can download the application form from the Sangsaeng Nuri website and submit it by 6 p.m. on the 25th. The exhibition targets items such as daily necessities, kitchenware, beauty and hair care, food, leisure sports, miscellaneous goods, and consumer products, and ‘Brand K’ products certified by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups will receive preferential treatment.

Applicants can apply for only one country between Indonesia and Thailand, and duplicate applications are not allowed. Five SMEs will be selected for each supported country, and the selected SMEs will receive support for a total of four months from October this year to January 2021.
