Reborn as the 4th Generation Model After 5 Years Since the 3rd Generation Launch in 2015
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] Hyundai Motor Company has launched the 4th generation Tucson, the best-selling compact SUV in Korea, equipped with new technologies and design innovations. The industry is closely watching whether the Tucson can perform well in the domestic market, which is experiencing fluctuations due to the resurgence of COVID-19 and reductions in individual consumption tax.
On the 15th, Hyundai held a digital world premiere event for 'The all-new TUCSON' (hereafter referred to as the new Tucson). The event was broadcast globally to key regions through Hyundai’s global and domestic official websites, SNS channels, and ‘Channel Hyundai,’ a smart TV-based global content platform recently launched by Hyundai.
Application of Hyundai’s Design Identity ‘Sensuous Sportiness’
The new Tucson is the 4th generation model reborn after 5 years since the 3rd generation launch in 2015. It is a new SUV model featuring Hyundai’s design identity, ‘Sensuous Sportiness’ (sportiness with added emotion), and attempts a bold design transformation.
Lee Sang-yup, Executive Vice President and Head of Hyundai Design Center, stated, “The new Tucson will complete Sensuous Sportiness and become the SUV that best represents Hyundai Motor Company’s challenging and bold spirit.”
