Social Issue Resolution Robot Technology Development Project Idea Discovery
[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-gyu Lee] The Korea Evaluation Institute of Industrial Technology (KEIT) announced on the 15th that it will hold the "Warm R&D Robot Field National Idea Contest for Socially Vulnerable Groups" to provide continuous education, care, and public services to socially vulnerable groups.
This contest was organized to propose ideas for robot technology development projects that solve social problems, enabling socially vulnerable groups to continuously receive education, care, and public services despite the risks of the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
Any Korean citizen with creative and innovative ideas about future promising technologies that can change the paradigm of the non-face-to-face service industry using robots and have significant social and economic ripple effects can participate in the contest. The proposed ideas will be used to discover themes for national research and development projects in the robot field.
The final winners of the contest will receive awards as follows: one grand prize team will receive 2 million KRW and the KEIT President’s Award, one excellence prize team will receive 1 million KRW and the KEIT President’s Award, and three encouragement prize teams will each receive 500,000 KRW and certificates.
Submissions will be accepted until 6 p.m. on October 10. The submitted ideas will go through document screening and final judging before the final decision is made, and the awards ceremony is planned to be held around mid-December.
