[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Hwang Choi Hyun-joo] Changshin University in Gyeongnam announced on the 14th that it will conduct face-to-face classes only for major subjects to protect students' safety from the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
According to Changshin University, real-time non-face-to-face classes were temporarily conducted for two weeks, and considering the somewhat calming trend, the Infectious Disease Countermeasures Committee decided on face-to-face classes for major subjects.
To manage quarantine, they are thoroughly implementing measures such as rearranging desks in classrooms, expanding the QR code verification system for entrants, and checking students' temperature measurement equipment. Classes are conducted based on the basic principle of maintaining a 2-meter distance, with a policy to not exceed a maximum of 25 students.
This face-to-face class decision was made based on students' voluntary participation, and for students who prefer non-face-to-face classes, real-time non-face-to-face classes and the LMS system will be concurrently operated using each department.
Park Yong-su, Director of Academic Affairs, stated, "We have completed the system to resolve emotional issues such as lethargy and depression caused by COVID-blue experienced by students and to enable school life at a safe level," adding, "Face-to-face classes for major subjects will be conducted to manage the decline in class quality caused by non-face-to-face classes."
