[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Saeng-hye] SPC Group's packaging production affiliate SPC Pack announced on the 7th that it received the Presidential Citation in recognition of its eco-friendly management achievements at the 'Resource Circulation Day' event held on the 6th.
The 'Resource Circulation Day Citation' is a government award given to organizations that have contributed to resource circulation policies such as resource recycling and waste reduction. It is part of the 'Resource Circulation Day' event established in 2009 to raise awareness of the seriousness of problems caused by resource waste and to expand recycling practices in daily life.
SPC Pack introduced facilities capable of recycling an average of 750 tons of packaging materials annually, achieved zero incineration waste since 2018, and developed eco-friendly ink technology that does not use substances such as toluene and methyl ethyl ketone (MEK), significantly reducing emissions of harmful substances including volatile organic compounds and THC (hydrocarbons).
An SPC Pack official stated, “We are actively researching ways to reduce emissions of environmentally harmful substances and effectively circulate resources,” adding, “We will continue to strengthen eco-friendly activities to realize social value.”
