Dobong-gu Holds 'Online Welfare Expo' Visiting Every Corner

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Dobong-gu (Mayor Dongjin Lee) will hold the "3rd E-Dobong Welfare Expo" online to promote local social welfare projects to residents while practicing social distancing.

Until now, the Dobong Welfare Expo has been held annually near Changdong Station as an offline welfare expo where residents participate and create together.

This event will be held online from August 31 to September 4 under the slogan "Valuable Together," hosted by Dobong-gu and organized by the Dobong-gu Social Welfare Council, minimizing face-to-face contact.

Residents who wish to participate can join various online expos through the Dobong-gu Social Welfare Council website, YouTube, and Kakao Channel.

In particular, during the event period, promotional vehicles will visit every corner of the neighborhood, promoting welfare project videos produced by social welfare institutions and organizations in each welfare area.

The promotional vehicles will travel throughout the district as follows: ▲ August 31 - Chang 1-dong to 3-dong ▲ September 1 - Chang 4-dong to 5-dong, Banghak 3-dong ▲ September 2 - Ssangmun 1-dong to 3-dong ▲ September 3 - Ssangmun 4-dong, Banghak 1-dong to 2-dong ▲ September 4 - Dobong 1-dong to 2-dong, promoting the efforts and activities of welfare institutions doing their best despite the COVID-19 situation to residents.

Along with this, a "Welfare Chat Meeting," a social welfare Q&A talk show format, will be held by collecting pre-submitted questions from residents using welfare institutions about social welfare. The video of the host and panelists naturally conversing will be shared through the Dobong-gu Social Welfare Council website and Facebook.

Also, the "Resident Participation Event N-Acrostic Relay" is ongoing on the Dobong-gu Social Welfare Council Kakao Channel to share thoughts on social welfare with residents. Residents who participate by writing N-acrostics using the given words "Social Welfare," "Dobong-gu," "Sharing," and "Greater Dobong" will receive sponsored goods (gift boxes) on a first-come, first-served basis.

A local welfare institution worker expressed their participation impression, saying, "I am glad that even during the COVID-19 situation, a non-face-to-face online expo was held, providing at least a small channel to communicate with residents."

Meanwhile, in celebration of the 21st Social Welfare Day, commendations for individuals and organizations who contributed to the social welfare field are scheduled to be held in September. However, the schedule may change depending on the COVID-19 situation.

Mayor Dongjin Lee of Dobong-gu said, "I hope many residents will show interest and participate in this online expo, which introduces various welfare sites in Dobong-gu through a new approach."
