The Korean Multimedia Society and Beetle Co., Ltd. Sign Agreement to Revitalize the Urban Regeneration Industry The Korea Multimedia Society signed a business agreement with Beetle Co., Ltd. on August 28 at Beacon Ground in Mangmi-dong, Suyeong-gu, Busan to promote the content industry and urban regeneration industry.


[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] The Korea Multimedia Society (President Kim Chi-yong, Dean of the ICT Engineering College at Dong-Eui University) signed a business agreement with Beetle Co., Ltd. (CEO Oh Jae-gwan) on the 28th at Beacon Ground located in Mangmi-dong, Suyeong-gu, Busan, to revitalize the content industry and urban regeneration industry.


Both organizations agreed to mutually cooperate to enhance competitiveness in ICT and the content industry, as well as to activate exhibition design industries and urban regeneration projects through the advancement of virtual reality and next-generation display technologies based on the 4th Industrial Revolution.


Beacon Ground, a complex cultural facility made of containers under the Suyeong Overpass passing through Gwang-an-dong and Mangmi-dong in Suyeong-gu, consists of commercial facilities, community spaces, startup spaces, art creation spaces, and event spaces.


Oh Jae-gwan, CEO of Beetle Co., Ltd., serves as the representative of the Beacon Ground commercial area. Construction began in 2018, was completed by the end of September this year, and is scheduled to open in early October.


Kim Chi-yong, President of the Korea Multimedia Society, said, “Through mutual cooperation, we hope Beacon Ground will become a good model of new urban regeneration as a complex cultural space.”


The Korea Multimedia Society was founded in Busan in 1997. It has established itself as the largest domestic society in the fields of multimedia and ICT technology applications, with about 7,000 registered members.


It has been recognized as an excellent academic organization by achieving high scores in journal evaluations registered with the National Research Foundation of Korea and in journal preference surveys conducted by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology.


Through domestic and international academic conferences and international workshops, it actively promotes research exchanges among academia, research institutes, and industry by presenting the latest research and technological development achievements.
