'300,000 Won 100 Times' Lee Jae-myung Faces O Se-hoon's Rebuke... "Would You Do That If It Were Your Own Household?"

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Former Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon, considered a leading opposition presidential candidate, criticized Gyeonggi Governor Lee Jae-myung's remark that "even if disaster relief funds are paid 30,000 won 100 times, the debt ratio is still lower than the average of advanced countries," saying, "Would you do that if it were your own household?"

On the 28th, former Mayor Oh questioned on Facebook, "The debt that advanced countries increased over 80 years, are we doing it in 30 years? Or 5 years?" directly criticizing Governor Lee. This appears to be in response to Lee emphasizing 'universal payment' of disaster relief funds and claiming on MBC's 'Kim Jong-bae's Focus' that "even if 30,000 won is paid 100 times, the debt ratio is still lower than the average of advanced countries."

He refuted Lee's claim by saying, "You tightened your belt and achieved compressed growth, and now the national debt ratio is catching up with advanced countries? There's still room?" and questioned, "Would you do that if it were your own household? Would you teach your own child that way?"

Former Mayor Oh also referred to a recent petition in the form of a memorial titled 'Seven Proposals for the New Year,' calling it "advice written from the heart." He said, "It was the most viewed news by the public, so I wonder if the president read it, or if he patiently read it to the end. I'm really curious," adding, "Anyway, the presidential term lasts until May 2022, but those five years feel quite long."

Former Mayor Oh also revealed that he recently moved his office to the one previously used by Justice Minister Choo Mi-ae. He said, "I moved the office because they asked to raise the deposit and monthly rent," and added, "While looking for a good location, I ended up in the office used by Minister Choo."

He expressed concern, saying, "Since she was promoted, it must be a prime spot, but I'm seriously worried about picking up all sorts of interference or adopting her arrogant sword dance moves," and added, "Every day when I sit in the seat, I will take it as a lesson."
