[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Professor Kim Eok-jung of the Department of Architecture at Hannam University donated a development fund ahead of his retirement. Professor Kim is also regarded as a leading architect in the Daejeon area.
According to Hannam University on the 27th, Professor Kim met with President Lee Kwang-seop and delivered a development fund of 10 million KRW for the advancement of the Department of Architecture.
The fund was offered with the intention of being used for his students ahead of his retirement at the end of this month. Through this, Professor Kim was registered as the 21st donor in the ‘Hannam Love 100 Donors Relay’.
Before being a university professor, Professor Kim has been actively working as an architect. Major buildings designed by Professor Kim include Daejeon Aju Art Museum, Yuseong Culture and Arts Center, Daehwa-dong Catholic Church, and Expo South Gate Plaza Moving Shelter.
President Lee Kwang-seop of Hannam University said, “Professor Kim has continuously contributed to the fields of architecture and art, bringing honor to Hannam University. The donation he made before retirement will be used valuably to nurture talent at the university in the future.”
