Changwon City Selected as Best City in 'Hope 2020 Neighbor Love Meritorious Local Governments'

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Choi Hyun-joo] Changwon City in Gyeongnam was selected as the "Best City" in the local government category of the "Hope 2020 Neighbor Love Merit Award" hosted by the Gyeongnam Community Chest of Korea.

This award is given by the chairman of the Gyeongnam Community Chest of Korea to cities, counties, individuals, organizations, companies, and meritorious public officials who contributed to the promotion of the donation culture last year, and will be officially presented at an awards ceremony next month.

The city is expected to receive the Chairman's Institutional Commendation as the Best City from the Gyeongnam Community Chest of Korea. In addition, the Chairman's Award in the civilian category will be given to Greenhouse Bakery, Monggo Food Co., Ltd., Doosan Machine Tools Co., Ltd., KC Environmental Service Co., Ltd., Kang Shin-won, Park Hee-sun, Nam Tae-ho, Park Maeng-nyeon, and in the public official category to Seong Bun-ja of Uichang-gu Buk-myeon Administrative Welfare Center.

During the "Hope 2020 Sharing Campaign," Changwon City actively participated in sharing for citizens in need by raising 14.77 million KRW from 4,651 employees through the Love Fruit Badge campaign and enrolling 19 senior public officials as sharing leaders with pledged donations of 1 million KRW each.

Furthermore, through the practice of neighborly love by local companies, organizations, and citizens, a total of 2.211 billion KRW was raised through the Gyeongnam Community Chest of Korea, which is 3.4% more than the 2.138 billion KRW raised last year, supporting medical expenses, living costs, and education expenses for low-income residents in the area.
