Two Samsung Training Centers Converted into COVID-19 'Living Treatment Centers'... Medical Staff Dispatched Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance Global Campus

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyewon] Samsung Group is providing two in-house training centers, Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance Global Campus and Samsung C&T International Management Institute, as residential treatment centers to alleviate the shortage of hospital beds in the metropolitan area caused by the resurgence of COVID-19.

According to Samsung on the 26th, the Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance Global Campus located in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, will be utilized as a residential treatment center (with 180 rooms) for the treatment, monitoring, and daily support of mild COVID-19 patients in the metropolitan area after completing operational preparations by the 31st.

Samsung plans to dispatch specialized medical staff from Samsung Medical Center to the Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance Global Campus residential treatment center. One team, consisting of one doctor and two nurses from three hospitals?Samsung Medical Center, Kangbuk Samsung Hospital, and Samsung Changwon Hospital?will be dispatched and provide continuous medical support in a rotational work system.

The Samsung C&T International Management Institute, located in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province (with 110 rooms), is also scheduled to open as a residential treatment center for patients in the metropolitan area next week.

Samsung decided to provide the training facilities based on the judgment that rapid support is necessary to minimize social damage caused by COVID-19. Earlier in March, Samsung provided the Samsung Human Resources Development Center Yeongdeok Training Center and Samsung Life Insurance Jeonju Training Center as residential treatment centers, supporting the treatment and recovery of a total of 423 mild patients.
