[Featured Stock] WI Improves Performance with Popular IPs like Kakao Friends, Pengsoo, and BTS

[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] WI's stock price is on the rise. Securities firms' analysis that the company can improve its performance by utilizing popular intellectual properties (IP) such as Kakao Friends, Pengsoo, and BTS appears to have influenced the stock price.

As of 1:58 PM on the 24th, WI is trading at 1,580 KRW, up 8.22% from the previous trading day.

Kakao Pay Securities analyzed that despite the impact of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), WI's performance is improving through its IP business.

Researcher Seungcheol Lee of Kakao Pay Securities stated, "WI has successfully established itself in the IP management business and turned a profit last year," adding, "It secured popular IPs such as ‘Pengsoo’, ‘Benz’, and ‘BTS’ based on the success of products utilizing the Kakao Friends IP."

He continued, "This year, by officially launching new IP products like ‘Pengsoo’ and ‘BTS’ in the market, the pace of performance growth will accelerate," and added, "The e-sports business will also become a new growth engine."
