[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] Gasoline prices at gas stations nationwide have been fluctuating in the 0 won range for four consecutive weeks.
According to Opinet, the oil price information service of the Korea National Oil Corporation, the weekly gasoline sales price at gas stations nationwide in the third week of this month was 1,361.2 won per liter, up 0.3 won from the previous week.
By brand, the gasoline price at Altteul gas stations was the cheapest at 1,330.8 won, while SK Energy was the most expensive at 1,368.7 won.
The gasoline price in Seoul, the highest-priced region, recorded 1,457.4 won per liter, up 1.8 won from the previous week, while Daegu, the lowest-priced region, was 1,334.5 won, down 0.7 won. Seoul is the only region nationwide where the average gasoline price remains in the 1,400 won range.
The nationwide diesel price at gas stations also rose by 0.3 won per liter to 1,163.7 won.
The Korea National Oil Corporation explained, "Domestic gasoline prices slightly increased due to increased purchases of U.S. agricultural products and energy following the implementation of the U.S.-China Phase One trade agreement."
