Korea Character Designers Association 21-Year Tradition Character Design Competition
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Advertising Route students from the College of Design at Dongseo University (President Jang Je-guk) swept the gold, silver, and bronze awards at the '2020 International Character Contents Contest.'
Dongseo University announced on the 19th that Seo Jeong-min won the gold prize, Jo Ho-jeong and Park Seo-young won silver prizes, and Kim Bo-kyung won a bronze prize in this international contest.
Organized by the Korea Character Designers Association and sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency, the International Character Contents Contest is a prestigious design competition in the character content field with a 21-year history.
The submitted works were produced in the Advertising Route basic capstone design class and were sponsored by the LINC+ Project Group.
Kim Jeong-sook, Director of Industry-Academy Education at the LINC+ Project Group, said, “The award-winning character designs will be commercialized in the future and linked to actual product sales through 'Sangsang Macha,' operated on campus, as well as online and offline channels.”
Seo Jeong-min, who won the gold prize, said, “I wanted to design emoticons that students struggling with their identity could relate to and use lightly through this contest. I am honored to receive the gold prize and would like to express my gratitude to my advising professor.”
