[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Nosik] Young people from outside have started living in Namwon, Jeonbuk, where they can experience leisurely time while facing the nature of Namwon.

On the 18th, the Namwon City Cultural City Project Promotion Committee announced that from the 12th to the 29th, for about two weeks, external young people are experiencing various charms of Namwon culture with their eyes and bodies, and directly listening to the voices of Namwon youth’s lives through the program “Dalbitarae Byeolsori Namwonsari” (hereafter “Namwonsari”).

“Namwonsari” is a program with the concept of “a time to face my romance in the nature of Namwon,” where busy young people can experience leisurely time while facing the nature of Namwon.

The city started accepting participants on the 30th of last month and selected 11 external young people on the 2nd through document screening and phone interviews.

The selected external young people participate in programs such as awakening daily senses, life skills workshops, eavesdropping on Namwonsari, and touring Namwon in two phases. Based on the various experiences felt during this process, they will also produce living results containing the charm of Namwon such as diaries, photos, drawings, and maps.

The first phase of “Namwonsari” is held for 10 days from the 12th to the 21st at a guesthouse near the old downtown area, under the theme of “My Rediscovery.” Participants engage in local tours, eavesdropping on the lives of Namwon youth, and hands-on experiences using Namwon plants as materials, discovering the charm and potential of Namwon.

The second phase of “Namwonsari” will be held for 8 days from the 22nd to the 29th at a minbak in Unbong, under the theme of “Rediscovery of Namwon.” Participants will take part in touring Namwon and understanding Namwon culture, having a deeper look into Namwon.

On the last day of each phase, there will be a time to share and exhibit the results produced based on the various experiences felt through “Namwonsari.” The diverse results of “Namwonsari” will be used as materials providing various information to young people interested in Namwon in the future.

A Namwon city official said, “We hope to discover new values and charms by connecting Namwon’s culture and nature from the perspective of external youth, and through this, more people will settle down in Namwon.”
