Busan Office of Education Selects 5 Schools for 'Busan-style Blended Learning' Research Program Busan Metropolitan Office of Education Building.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education selected five schools as 'Busan-type Blended Learning Research Schools' on the 18th through a public contest to develop a blended learning teaching and learning model.

These research schools aim to develop a teaching and learning model that enables blended learning by creating digital content from classroom lessons and then uploading the produced content to educational platforms or individual school learning management systems.

The Office of Education selected Baesan Elementary School, Anmin Elementary School, Jugam Elementary School, Dongsuyeong Middle School, and Yangjeong High School as research schools and will operate them for two years and six months from September 2020 to February 2023.

To develop a new model of Busan-type blended learning teaching and learning, a budget of 714 million KRW per school will be supported.

This budget will be invested in infrastructure for blended learning, such as providing one laptop per student and teacher, establishing individual school learning management systems, and converting general classrooms into digital classrooms.

Kwon Seok-tae, Director of the Future Talent Education Division, said, "The research schools are operated to explore the direction of Busan-type future education in preparation for the post-COVID-19 era," adding, "We will develop a Busan-type blended teaching and learning model that can be used as a future education guide by school level, grade, and subject."
