With this, Japan's daily new confirmed cases have remained in the 1,000 range for three consecutive days. The cumulative number of confirmed cases is 55,859.

From the 4th to the 9th, Japan recorded over 1,000 cases daily for six consecutive days, then the daily cases dropped below 1,000 from the 10th to the 12th, and rose back to over 1,000 starting from the 13th.

The cumulative death toll increased by 4 on this day, reaching 1,103.

Meanwhile, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government stated that the current COVID-19 spread situation is very serious and requires the highest level of vigilance, urging residents to refrain from traveling, going out, and nighttime gatherings.
