[Asia Economy Reporter Seongpil Cho] It has been confirmed belatedly that a sitting chief judge filed a complaint against a fellow judge on charges of leaking trial-related secrets to the outside.
According to the legal community on the 14th, Judge A, who was in charge of criminal trials at the Seoul Central District Court until early this year, filed a complaint with the prosecution in February against Judge B, a classmate from the Judicial Research and Training Institute, on charges of official secret leakage.
Judge A is reported to claim that Judge B leaked some of the trial-related information he was handling to the defendant's side. They had exchanged opinions on whether to issue an arrest warrant, and Judge B allegedly conveyed that information to the defendant's side.
The Criminal Division 1 of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor Jinwoong Jeong), which was assigned the case, is investigating the facts through the defense counsel and others.
