[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] On the morning of the 14th, Chaehyunil, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo District, visited the "Statue of Peace" at Yeongdeungpo Times Square to commemorate the "Comfort Women Victims Memorial Day," offering flowers and observing a moment of silence.

The "Statue of Peace" was erected last October to comfort the comfort women grandmothers and to remind the residents of the history of human rights and peace.

On this day, Mayor Cha inspected the condition of the statue and urged thorough management to prevent any damage to it.

He also pledged to make every effort to prepare support measures to restore the dignity of the comfort women victims.
