[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] An Il-hwan, Vice Minister of Strategy and Finance, stated, "We plan to actively reflect the Korean New Deal budget, a leading national development strategy, in the 2021 budget."


On the 14th, at the 'Expert Roundtable for Promoting the Digital New Deal' held at Medical IP, a leading company in the digital New Deal sector, Vice Minister An said, "We must proactively respond to the new normal of the post-COVID era where quarantine and the economy coexist."


He emphasized, "Organic cooperation between the government, research institutions, and companies is necessary, and the efforts of on-site companies are most important." He continued, "It is important to accelerate the transition to a digital economy by actively utilizing information and communication technology, where we have a competitive advantage."


The roundtable was organized to share successful public-private cooperation experiences in developing technologies in the D.N.A. (Data, Network, AI) sector, which is regarded as a core of the Fourth Industrial Revolution era, in relation to the Digital New Deal.


Experts at the roundtable agreed that convergence among various economic sectors is essential to effectively respond to global competition toward the digital economic transition.


Medical IP expressed expectations for the government's DNA (Data·Network·AI) ecosystem strengthening policy through the Digital New Deal and pledged to become a world-leading company in the field of infectious disease AI analysis and solutions.
