Financial Supervisory Service Opens Recruitment for 90 New Employees... Largest Scale Ever

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyo-jin] The Financial Supervisory Service (FSS) announced on the 14th that it will publicly recruit 90 new employees (Grade 5) for 2021. This recruitment number is the largest ever, 15 more than the 75 hired this year.

The FSS explained, "Considering the expansion and reorganization of the Financial Consumer Protection Department, increased demand for supervision and inspection tasks such as strengthening private fund supervision, and government policies to expand youth employment, the recruitment scale has been significantly increased."

The recruitment fields include a total of seven areas: Business Administration, Law, Economics, IT, Statistics, Financial Engineering, and Consumer Studies. The recruitment fields are based on the subjects for the second written exam, and there are no restrictions on academic background or major. The application period is from the 19th to the 28th of this month. The first written exam will be held on the 12th of next month.

The first written test, based on the National Competency Standards (NCS) for basic job skills, will consist of multiple-choice questions in three areas: communication skills, numerical ability, and problem-solving ability. To provide sufficient opportunities for applicants, the passing ratio has been increased from the previous 10 times to 15 times the number of positions.

The second written exam will be held on October 17, followed by first and second interviews, with the final successful candidates announced between late December and early January next year. The second written test will be conducted as last year, consisting of major knowledge (subjective) and essay exams.
