Free Private Movie Viewing Opportunity When Applying Online as a Group of Family, Friends, or Couples
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Songpa-gu (Mayor Park Seong-su) operates the 'Uri-kki-ri Theater' as a cultural healing program for residents in the COVID-19 era at the newly opened 'Cultural Experiment Space Hosu' at Seokchon Lake West Lake.
'Uri-kki-ri Theater' is a program where groups of up to six people, such as family, couples, or friends, can make reservations and privately watch their desired movies at their preferred time in a dedicated space within the 'Cultural Experiment Space Hosu.'
The venue is the 'Diversity Cinema' located on the second floor of the 'Cultural Experiment Space Hosu,' a small-scale theater with about 10 seats where various genres of films, including independent and art films, can be enjoyed free of charge. Currently, two films are screened daily, and movie-related goods are also exhibited, providing new entertainment for moviegoers.
Operating hours are limited to one group per day (2 PM to 5 PM) to prevent the spread of COVID-19, with daily facility disinfection and other quarantine measures in place to ensure safe use.
Viewers can choose from over 200 Blu-ray and DVD titles owned by the theater or bring their own movies to watch.
Applications can be made by groups of up to six people, such as family, couples, or friends, through the 'Cultural Experiment Space Hosu' blog or SNS. When applying online, applicants can select their desired movie and make a reservation in advance.
This program is expected to be a refreshing gift to residents weary of daily life by providing a small-scale theater where families, friends, and couples can comfortably select and enjoy movies together, especially when visiting regular theaters is avoided due to COVID-19.
It is especially recommended to prepare simple snacks such as lunch boxes or drinks to enjoy alongside the movie viewing.
The three-story 'Cultural Experiment Space Hosu' offers a variety of cultural programs in one place, including a performance exhibition hall, diversity cinema, instrument lounge, cooking studio, Hosune Garden, and smart healthcare zone.
Park Seong-su, Mayor of Songpa-gu, stated, “As COVID-19 has lasted for a long time, people have lost many opportunities to enjoy culture. Through the 'Uri-kki-ri Theater,' where people can safely watch movies with acquaintances without worrying about contact with many others, I hope everyone can have a moment of healing.”
