[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] The Galaxy Note20 Ultra model is experiencing a shortage of supply due to a surge in orders during the pre-order period.

According to industry sources on the 12th, orders for the Galaxy Note20 Ultra unlocked model have surged on Samsung.com and 11st, causing delays in delivery schedules.

Samsung.com is informing that all three colors of the Galaxy Note20 Ultra (Bronze, White, Black) will be shipped starting from the 27th, and 11st also states that the Ultra model in Bronze and White colors will be shipped from the 28th. Although pre-order customers can activate their devices early from the 14th, due to the high volume of orders, they have to wait until the end of this month.

A Samsung Electronics official explained, "Not only online but also at Samsung Digital Plaza stores, the unlocked Ultra model supply is insufficient," adding, "In the early stages, the sales volume of the Ultra model is high because consumers who frequently enjoy the Note series are rushing to purchase."

The Galaxy Note20 KT and LG Uplus carrier models sold on Coupang are also partially sold out. Since the pre-orders began on the 7th across Samsung.com and various online open markets, the first and second batch sales quantities have been exhausted.

The initial pre-order performance of the Galaxy Note20 is similar to that of the Galaxy Note10. Attention is focused on whether it will surpass the Note10’s achievement of over 1.3 million units. The Note series has many loyal fans, and the pre-order gift of the wireless earphones 'Galaxy Buds Live,' priced in the 200,000 KRW range, also had a significant effect. Moreover, the rumor that this product might be the last release in the Note series has further stimulated demand.

Meanwhile, due to the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), Samsung Electronics has launched a 'contactless marketing' campaign to boost the popularity of the Galaxy Note20.

For the first time ever, the Galaxy Note20 was unveiled exclusively through an online Unpacked event, and the offline experience space 'Galaxy Studio' was implemented as a non-face-to-face experience method allowing users to try the product via video. The 'Galaxy To Go' service, which lets customers try the Galaxy Note20 in advance, has also extended its trial period to three days. On the 12th, a live commerce event selling the Galaxy Note20 will be held through Naver Shopping Live with DinDin. The 'Galaxy Fan Party,' which could not be held last February, will also be held online on the 21st.
