Dobong-gu Hosts '815 History and Culture Concert' Commemorating Liberation Day


[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Dobong-gu (Mayor Lee Dong-jin) will hold the ‘815 History and Culture Concert’ commemorating the 75th Liberation Day at 7 p.m. on the 14th at the Dobong-gu Community Center Grand Auditorium.


This performance is organized around four themes: ‘Stolen Fields,’ ‘Tears of the People,’ ‘The Spirit of the Nation Preserved to the End,’ and ‘Ah! Republic of Korea.’ Various genres including classical music, popular songs, instrumental performances, and dance will be showcased at the Dobong-gu Community Center Grand Auditorium.


With ‘Arirang’ music, the ‘Seoul City Ballet’ will present a collaboration stage blending tradition and modernity, along with poetry recitations, children’s songs performed on piano and violin, and video screenings depicting the lives of independence activists, providing an opportunity to empathize with the pains of the era and reflect on the meaning of liberation through music.


In particular, the popular singer of ‘Ah! Republic of Korea,’ Jung Soo-ra, will share music to celebrate the joy of liberation, creating a stage of empathy and communication.


Additionally, winners selected through fierce competition in the preliminary round on July 13 and the final round on July 18 of the ‘815 History and Culture Concert Online Audition’ will showcase their talents on this stage.


The ‘815 History and Culture Concert’ will be broadcast live in real time on Dobong-gu Office’s YouTube and Facebook for residents who cannot attend the offline event.


Reservations for the performance can be made in advance on the Dobong-gu website, and admission is free. Seating will be arranged following the ‘distanced seating system’ in accordance with COVID-19 social distancing measures.
