According to RIA Novosti and other sources, President Putin chaired a remote cabinet meeting on the day and explained, "This morning, the world's first COVID-19 vaccine was registered. It functions quite effectively and forms lasting immunity."

He emphasized that the vaccine has undergone all necessary verification procedures.
