[Asia Economy Reporter Onyu Lim] The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 12th that it will recruit prospective tenants for 3,607 permanent rental housing units across 35 complexes in 9 districts including Gangseo, Nowon, Gangnam, and Gangbuk.
As of the announcement date for prospective tenant recruitment on the 13th, applicants must be members of a household without a home residing in Seoul and fall under the first priority category of general supply according to Appendix 3, Article 1 of the Enforcement Rules of the Public Housing Special Act. Eligible applicants include recipients of public assistance, national merit recipients, victims of Japanese military sexual slavery, eligible single-parent families, North Korean defectors, and persons with disabilities.
The selection of tenants will follow the Enforcement Rules of the Public Housing Special Act. In cases of competition within the same priority, selection will be based on the total score according to the permanent rental housing tenant selection criteria table, length of residence in Seoul, and the applicant’s age in descending order.
Applications will be accepted at community service centers for five days from the 24th to the 28th, and prospective tenants will be selected and announced on December 17. Once selected as a prospective tenant, move-in will be possible according to the waiting order.
Applications must be submitted in person at the applicant’s local community service center for eligibility verification.
