Geumseong Baekjo Donates 200 Million Won to Help Neighbors in Need


[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Yuri] Geumseong Baekjo Housing announced on the 11th that it donated 200 million KRW in donations for the underprivileged in Daejeon City.


The donation ceremony held at Daejeon City Hall on the 10th was attended by Heo Tae-jung, Mayor of Daejeon, and Jeong Tae-hee, Chairman of the Daejeon Social Welfare Community Chest, among others.


Mayor Heo said, "Amid the adverse effects of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), heatwaves and monsoon rains continue," adding, "This will be a great help to the underprivileged neighbors who are in urgent need of attention. I sincerely thank you."


Jeong Seong-wook, Chairman of Geumseong Baekjo, stated, "I wanted to convey a small heart to neighbors who are enduring various difficult situations due to COVID-19, heatwaves, and heavy rains," and added, "I hope this can be of some help to our neighbors."


Meanwhile, Geumseong Baekjo donated 30 million KRW in February for COVID-19 relief and sponsored red ginseng products worth 50 million KRW as consolation gifts for screening clinics in July. The company has been carrying out free repairs of old houses for national veterans for 27 years and is engaged in various social contribution activities for the local community, including scholarship support.
