[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province is publicly recruiting 600 participants for the 'Gyeonggi Youth Hope Job Project' until the 19th.

The Gyeonggi Youth Hope Job Project is a program that provides 3 to 4 months of assistant work positions at public institutions and welfare facilities for young people facing economic difficulties, followed by wage support.

Any youth aged 18 to 39 with a registered address in Gyeonggi Province can apply.

Applicants who are disqualified due to duplicate participation in other projects will be excluded and selected by lottery.

Work locations include the Gyeonggi Provincial Government, public institutions under Gyeonggi Province, and welfare facilities in 31 cities and counties. The work period is from September 1 to December 18.

They are recruiting 378 administrative support personnel for the provincial government and public institutions, 202 support personnel for welfare facilities, and 20 youth activity support personnel for surveys and other activities. An additional 30 youth activity support personnel will be recruited next month.

The wage is set at 10,364 KRW per hour, applying the Gyeonggi Province living wage standard, which is higher than the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's Hope Job Project guideline minimum hourly wage of 8,590 KRW. Separate payments for holiday leave, welfare points, and health check-up expenses are provided.

Applications can be submitted online through the Gyeonggi Job Foundation recruitment website (gifin.saramin.co.kr).

Kim Kyung-hwan, head of the Youth Welfare Policy Division, said, "We hope this project will empower young people who are struggling due to COVID-19 and the local economic downturn," and emphasized, "Gyeonggi Province will continue to actively support revitalizing the local economy by providing various jobs to young people facing employment difficulties."
