Jeonnam Fire Department and Volunteer Fire Brigade Work Hard on Flood Damage Recovery in Affected Areas

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Firefighters and volunteer firefighters in Jeonnam are working tirelessly on recovery efforts in flood-affected areas, even giving up their days off.

According to the Jeonnam Fire Headquarters (Chief Ma Jaeyoon) on the 10th, about 900 firefighters and volunteer firefighters visited the affected areas to engage in disaster recovery activities.

Heavy rain concentrated in the Honam region over two days from the 7th to the 8th has caused widespread flooding damage throughout Jeonnam.

In response, about 200 firefighters and 720 volunteer firefighters carried out activities such as cleaning and organizing residents' daily necessities and home appliances damaged by landslides in the most severely affected areas of Gokseong, Gurye, and Damyang.

The Jeonnam Fire Department plans to continue supporting flood recovery efforts together with the Jeollanam-do Volunteer Fire Brigade until the affected residents regain stability in their daily lives.

An Hoonseok, president of the Jeonnam Volunteer Fire Brigade Association, said, "We will do our best at the recovery sites with the same heart as the residents affected by the heavy rain."

Ma Jaeyoon, chief of the Jeonnam Fire Headquarters, expressed gratitude for the volunteer spirit of the volunteer firefighters and wished for the speedy return of the affected residents to their normal lives.
