[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Yangcheon-gu (Mayor Kim Soo-young) has reported its 73rd confirmed case of COVID-19.
The 73rd confirmed case in Yangcheon, Mr. A, was an asymptomatic carrier who had contact with the 93rd confirmed case in Guro, who was diagnosed on the 9th. On the same day, the 9th, Mr. A was tested at the Yangcheon-gu screening clinic and received a positive result on the morning of the 10th.
Mr. A is scheduled to be transferred to Soonchunhyang University Seoul Hospital, and immediately upon transfer, the public health center’s disinfection team will conduct disinfection in the Sinjeong 4-dong residential area and its surroundings.
The movement route is currently under in-depth investigation by epidemiologists, and the district office plans to disclose the identified routes on the Yangcheon-gu blog as soon as they are confirmed.
Additionally, the district office announced that it has informed two cohabitants of Mr. A about self-quarantine and that they are subject to COVID-19 screening tests.
With this, the cumulative number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Yangcheon-gu has reached 73.
Kim Soo-young, Mayor of Yangcheon-gu, stated, “The average daily number of domestic confirmed cases over the past two weeks is 12.1, which is somewhat decreased compared to 19.9 in the previous two weeks. However, confirmed cases continue to occur steadily within the community, so we cannot afford to be complacent.” He added, “We urge everyone to minimize contact such as small gatherings and strictly adhere to basic prevention measures like wearing masks.”
