[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] NS Home Shopping announced on the 10th that it donated 100 million KRW to the ‘Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association’ to support recovery from heavy rain damage and aid for disaster victims.
This donation was made to support areas affected by recent prolonged rainy seasons and heavy rains that caused human and property damage. The donated funds will be used through the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association for flood damage recovery and providing relief supplies to disaster victims.
As concerns over additional damage from Typhoon Jangmi have increased, NS Home Shopping plans to additionally operate support programs for flood damage recovery by utilizing its existing social contribution programs and company capabilities.
First, NS Home Shopping, which has been running the ‘119 Hope Sharing’ campaign since 2016 to support firefighters who died or were injured in the line of duty, decided to support firefighters affected during the flood rescue operations this time.
For the purpose of promoting consumption to support farmers in the affected areas, once the flood situation stabilizes, they plan to assess the situation and prepare support measures using various NS Home Shopping channels accordingly.
Do Sang-chul, CEO of NS Home Shopping, said, “We plan to provide multifaceted support so that all those affected can return to a stable daily life as soon as possible,” and added, “We hope that NS Home Shopping’s encouragement and sincerity will be delivered as courage and hope to the residents of the affected areas who are in distress.”
Meanwhile, NS Home Shopping has continuously engaged in sharing activities to overcome social difficulties together, such as donating funds for recovery from the Daegu Seomun Market fire in 2016, the Pohang earthquake in 2017, and the Gangwon Province wildfire in 2019, and delivering 100,000 COVID-19 protective masks to the Daegu area in March of this year.
