Mujinjang Fire Station, Heavy Rain and Strong Wind Field Operations

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Go Dallyeong] Mujinjang Fire Station (Chief Park Deokgyu) announced on the 10th that it conducted life rescue, water supply and drainage support, and safety measures during the heavy rain warning period when a deluge poured down due to concentrated heavy rain.

During this heavy rain warning period, a total of 415 firefighters and 138 pieces of equipment were mobilized to rescue a total of 18 people.

In particular, 28 cases (10t) of water supply and drainage support activities were carried out in flooded areas such as apartments, facilities, and houses in the jurisdiction, and safety measures were taken 68 times at damage sites such as landslides and flooding, including moving flooded vehicles, removing trees fallen on roadsides, building temporary embankments, and addressing flooded houses and roads.

Also, due to the influence of Typhoon No. 5 ‘Jangmi’, concerns about damage caused by strong winds and concentrated heavy rain have led to strengthened on-site inspections and surveillance activities, maintaining emergency alert duty posture, and thorough disaster response such as flood damage for areas at risk of human casualties such as weak ground landslides and flood-prone vulnerable roads.

Fire Chief Park Deokgyu said, “We will maintain 100% operational status of available equipment including dispatch equipment inspection to check the heavy rain damage situation so that no additional damage occurs, and do our best for preventive measures in risk areas and rapid recovery.”
