[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Seodaemun-gu (Mayor Moon Seok-jin) will promote ‘Public-Private Partnership Integrated Case Management Consulting’ with the Seoul City Community Support Team for two years starting from the 19th of this month.
The district planned this to strengthen the public-private collaboration structure and reorganize the linkage system between the district office and the community service centers in order to ‘revitalize integrated case management at the community level.’
‘Integrated case management’ refers to connecting and providing customized services such as welfare, health, employment, housing, and education to households in crisis to help them become self-reliant.
This consulting will proceed through the formation of the ‘Seodaemun-gu Public-Private Partnership Integrated Case Management Promotion Team,’ capacity building and activation strategy establishment for the promotion team, strategy execution and evaluation, decision on the district-community linkage system, and revitalization of community integrated case management.
Led by Professor Ki-yeon Lee of Sogang University Graduate School of Public Policy, the ‘Seoul City Case Management Consulting Team,’ consisting of Seoul public administration experts and field experts from private welfare organizations, will be in charge of this.
The Seodaemun-gu promotion team is expected to be composed of about 20 members, including private institution officials from comprehensive welfare centers, mental health welfare centers, dementia support centers, welfare planners from four community service centers, and district integrated case managers.
At the consulting briefing and meeting held on the 4th of this month in the district office’s main conference room, Kim Yong-won, head of the resident welfare team at Chung-hyeon Community Service Center, expressed expectations, saying, “It seems this will be a meaningful public-private partnership integrated case management consulting for local residents.”
Seodaemun-gu, which won the grand prize in the ‘Public-Private Cooperation and Resource Linkage’ category in the Ministry of Health and Welfare’s regional welfare project evaluation last December, aims through this consulting to strengthen the collaboration structure among autonomous district-community service centers-private institutions and provide welfare services to residents more efficiently and integratively.
Mayor Moon Seok-jin of Seodaemun-gu said, “Based on the strengthened public-private collaboration operation system through this consulting, the case management of community service centers, which serve as gatekeepers of welfare windows, will be further revitalized.”
